4 Million Indian Girls Victim of Teenage Pregnancy

Bangalore: Today the world is growing at a rapid pace and has a massive population of around 7.1 billion. Accordingly, the main theme of United Nations 2013 World Population Day is “Adolescent Pregnancies” as there are increasing numbers of teenage pregnancy all over the world and this in a way adds up to the overall increase of the world population, as reported by Anjani Trivedi for TIME.

The UN mainly focuses that every pregnancy should be an acceptable one with a safe delivery and every young person’s potential should be accomplished.

"Far too many of the estimated 16 million teenage girls (across the world) who give birth every year never had the opportunity to plan their pregnancy," said Ban Ki-moon UN Secretary General calling for greater attention to adolescent pregnancy on World Population Day, reported IANS.

India, a developing country, is also known as one of the world’s youngest nation with a huge population of 300 million people below the age of 25.
