According to a recently released database of construction projects by Emporis, there are 10 mighty skyscrapers whose foundations have been laid, means they are being built right now. These building have an average high of 1,857 feet.

These mega-contractions will not be able to beat the 2,717 feet tall Dubai's Burj Khalifa, but they are sure to be magnificent and a wonder in itself. The city of dreams, Mumbai is also witnessing the making of one such wonder.

10. Busan Lotte World Tower, South Korea

Height When Completed: 1,675.02 feet

Busan, South Korea is witnessing the construction of this huge building which is supposed to be completed at the earliest by 2015. Busan Lotte World Tower will have 110 floors and will be the fifth tallest building after Burj Khalifa, Shanghai Tower, Abraj Al Bait Towers, and One World Trade Center.

The design of the building looks like a giant ship standing on the harbor. The construction of the tower is happening in different phases. The first phase which includes department stores got finished in 2009, the second phase got completed in 2012 and the third phase having a mart and a cinema is to get over by 2014. The last phase is the largest one which includes a luxury hotel, an observation deck, offices, and cultural facilities. The tower will also have a huge underground parking lit which can handle over 2,400 cars.
