4. Guyana:

Suicide is the most significant and serious social problem in Guyana, having the highest suicide rate among the South American and Caribbean nations. This country ranks fourth worldwide for suicides committed. An upsetting statistic exposed that suicide in Guyana is commonly found in the age group of 15-24 year-olds with depression and domestic disagreements as the main reason. 40 percent of the citizens are found to commit suicide by taking agricultural pesticides. The government is taking up various steps to stop this inhuman act by installing hot lines on phones, and police trying to prevent young adolescents from committing such unlawful acts. Guyana has become the capital city for suicide mainly because of the incident in 1978 where around 900 people of Jonestown put an end to their own life after being told to do so by Jim Jones.

3.23 percent case of unnatural death reported every year is from Kazakhstan. Suicide is a major social issue prevalent in Kazakhstan since many years. This country recorded the highest number of suicides for girls in the age group of 15 to 19 and for the boys the number is the second highest after the Soviet Union. Many factors attribute to the rise of suicide among younger generation in Kazakhstan, and mainly include economic problems and exposure to violence.
