No Arrest after Sunset

Without prior permission of the Magistrate a woman cannot be taken into custody before sunrise and after sunset. There have been cases where the dignity of a woman has been maligned in the name of police arrest. The enactment of this rule by Supreme Court aims to put an end to the incidents of police atrocities on woman.
Right to not being called to the Police Station

Under section 160 of the CRPC, a woman cannot be called for questioning to the Police station as part of the investigation on harassment against her. This right is to ensure that woman need not be physically present during the investigation process. However, she can be questioned at her residence in the presence of her family members and a lady constable.
