BENGALURU: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has taken the initiative to enlist the intangible cultural practices from around the world. Cultural heritage does not stop at monuments and structures; heritage is anything that has been passed on to us from our ancestors. Having  learnt about the true sense of cultural heritage, one thing that strikes us all is the a country as old as India and culturally rich as India is bound to have many such practices, it could be oral traditions, performing arts, social practices or anything that is worth preserving.

Rightly so UNESCO has identified the following 10 ‘intangible’ cultural practices which are still followed by the Indians. The list as given by The Better India—
