 Adani Green Energy Starts 775 MW Solar Projects in Gujarat
Adani Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has announced the commencement of operations for its 775 megawatts (MW) solar power projects in Khavda, Gujarat. The company disclosed this development in a filing to the stock exchange.
These solar power projects have been operationalized following the acquisition of necessary clearances, according to Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL). The capacity has been brought online through various wholly-owned step-down subsidiaries of AGEL.
The company stated, "Adani Green Energy, through its various wholly-owned step-down subsidiaries, has operationalized an aggregate 775 MW solar power projects at Khavda, Gujarat".
The decision to operationalize the plant and initiate power generation was made at 00:12 am on March 29, 2024, in accordance with the obtained clearances. Consequently, power generation from the plant commenced on the same day.
This milestone reinforces AGEL's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio across India. AGEL currently boasts the largest operating renewable portfolio in the country, with projects spanning 12 states.
Adani Green Energy's significant investment in renewable energy projects aligns with India's broader goals of increasing clean energy generation and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The operationalization of these solar power projects contributes to Gujarat's renewable energy capacity and supports the state's efforts towards sustainable development.
