Priyanka Chopra Thanks PM Narendra Modi for 'Incredible Support' To Entertainment Industry
India is all set to host the WAVES Summit 2025 from May 1 to 4 at the Jio World Centre. Hosted by Netflix and curated by Reskilll, the summit will be a colorful arena of creativity, bringing together filmmakers, actors, and storytellers to exchange ideas, build collaborations, and experience the future of films, series, and digital storytelling. Top Indian cinema personalities are set to converge on Mumbai for this historic occasion. Global icon Priyanka Chopra has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "incredible support" for the film industry, terming the event as "historic."
In a video posted on her official X account on Wednesday evening, Priyanka talked about the WAVES Summit, saying, "Hello everyone. I wanted to take a moment to talk about something really historic that's taking place right now. For the first time, India is hosting the World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit, WAVES, in Mumbai from May 1st to 4th. This isn't just another conference; WAVES marks India's bold entry onto the world stage, announcing that our creative economy is not only booming but also set to lead. For me, going global has always been about highlighting the extraordinary depth of India's talent, creativity, and ambition."
She expressed her appreciation for PM Modi and the ministries involved in the conference, saying, "Today, WAVES is achieving this thanks to the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi Ji, and the remarkable support from various ministries working to give the media, entertainment, and creator economy the recognition it truly deserves. This summit will bring together over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300 companies, 350 startups, and leaders from more than 90 countries, all under one roof."

The WAVES Summit 2025 will have a galaxy of stars, some of India's biggest names like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Hema Malini.
WAVES is to be a revolutionary platform for India's entertainment sector, backed by FICCI, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Create in India Challenge, to access wider reach globally as well as drive creative innovation.
