Ever wondered how entertainment is playing significant role in our life. There is no doubt that we always look for various source of entertainment to boost ourselves. And it can differ from person to person. Still, the very popular source of entertainment comes in mind is movies. Well, the trend of movie keeps changing with time. And we have heard movie being inspired from Hollywood, Tollywood, real life stories and many more. But the trend of movies, based on novels is evergreen. For book lovers, it is simply uneasy to see their favourite literary works turn out to be a show or movie. But the diversity of the personality says that there is a majority who loves to watch movies based on novels. There is no denying that books make up for some of the best film scripts we’ve seen so far.

We all love the let’s-read-and-leave-it-to-our-imagination idea but we have to confess that visuals end up doing a much better job. Moreover, books may not be everyone’s robust suit however they don’t need to miss out on the movies for their pursuit of happiness and entertainment. Like it has always said, “Creativity has no boundaries”. Here is the list of some movies which are inspired from different genres and appreciated by the viewers. Let’s begins from past to the present.

The movie is based on the significantly acclaimed novel The Guide written by R K Narayan, one of the prominent figures of 20th century Indian author.

The award winning performances by Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman made the movie classic. To make it more fascinating there is different ending then the novel. 

 

 

 

Devdas (1936, 1955, 2002) and Parineeta (1953 and 2005)

Devdas

These two legendary and dramatic movies have created different fan followers. Devdas is a Bengali Romantic novel and it has been re-created on the screen three times. Parineeta is a musical film, based on a Bengali novel and re-created on the screen twice.

Both of the novels are written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. These films were a huge hit which are admired by the audience even at this date. 

 

 

3 Idiots (2009), Kai Po Che (2013) and 2 States ( 2014)

These movies are based on Chetan Bhagat bestselling books. It has said about him, “You can love him, you can hate him but you can't ignore him”. 3 Idiots is loosely adapted from Five Point Someone; Kai Po Che! is based on The Three Mistakes Of My Life; and 2 States is released with the same name.

These movies have presented the inner conflicts of the younger generation. The conflicts could be personal or professional.

 

 

Dil Bechara (2020)

The film is remake of the immensely successful book on teenage love written by John Green, an American author. The Fault In Our Stars has already been made into film in the US. But the Indian version has different setting as well as characteristic of the characters has been modified as per Indian trend.

Moreover, it has made a huge impact in the industry as well as on the public also because of the late- star Sushant Signh Rajput.

 

 

The White Tiger (2021)

The movie is based on Aravind Adiga’s The White Tiger (2008), Man Booker Prize-winning novel.

The newest Netflix film is a clumsy and raised question against the societal so-called right and wrong norms. Its abrupt ending leaves a sour aftertaste to the audiences.
