The song “Rang Barse” was sung by Amitabh Bachchan himself though at the time of the relases the movie the song recived a lot of criticism and Amitabh Bachchan was the centre of all jokes but with time this song has become a classic Holi number.

Two brothers, Shashi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan are in love with two girls and they decided to get married on the same day. But fate intervens cruelly and Shashi kapoor dies leaving beind a pregnant girl friend Jay Bhaduri. Due to the situations Amitabh Bachchan marries her and asks Rekha to forget him. Heartbroken Rekha marries Sanjeev Kapoor. Years later when Rekha and Amitabh meet again love resurfaces. The story carries on to show how Jaya fights for her husband and in the end everything ends on a positive note with Rekha realizing she loves her husband and she goes back to him.
