Xiaomi Plans R&D Centre In Bangalore

The reason for such a vibrant sale is that Xiaomi sells a model for up to 18 months instead of the short 6 months alike Samsung to yield more from the fall in the costs of components that occurs over time. It also profits by selling phone-related accessories in addition to the themes and software.

The expansion of the Xiaomi is expected to be very obvious as the South-Asian countries are the fastest growing markets in sale of smartphone, around 80 million devices this year that is  double the numbers in comparision to the last year.

Barra explained that "It will become more severe since India has dual-mode LTE, so our devices will have to do 2G, GPRS, 3G, FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE, making India the only market for us today where a five mode device is required," reports ET.
