In the year 1997, a returning Steve Jobs added a new member into the Newton OS platform, the eMate 300. The eMate was structured in a notebook-kind of style and had all the features of its previous version. Later Jobs himself decided to axe the platform and choose to concentrate more on the software technology which later resulted into OS X and Mac OS.

Yet another interesting product from Apple, as the mid 1990s saw the tech giant shooting into the multimedia entertainment platform. The Pippin was Apple’s primary competitor in the entertainment media platform, which spelled out the basics of a stand alone, gaming console with a detachable gamepad that can be hooked into a television set. Apple also surprised everyone with its marketing strategy as Apple granted the license to Bandai in Japan and North America.
