Apple Network Server was Apple’s first product to grab the medium-range enterprise server market. Primarily run on Macintosh technology, the machine used Power PC CPUs along with a modified version of IBM AIX operating system. The product had two models- the 500 and the 700. Once again the market had to let down the product as its mixed pedigree of high price and issues limited the appeal.

iPod is a product that truly increased the brand value of Apple. Even with its limited third party support, the iPod has all that it takes to be called as a computing machine. Till date, every member of the iPod is build on the ARM based CPU. Along with that the system works on a custom version of Pixo OS, an embedded operating system initially licensed by Apple and later bought outright from the Pixo company itself.
