Is Dropbox, Valued At $10 Billion, Going the IPO Way?
Bangalore: Dropbox, one of the popular file hosting services, is reportedly going public by the end of this year. Started in 2007, the net worth of the company is currently estimated at $10 billion, thanks to the booming cloud storage and the internet business.
Dropbox initially targeted individual users by offering limited free storage, but with its popularity and rapid growth, the company now has plans to expand into the corporate market as well. There are close to 20 million users who use the cloud storage facility offered by the company.
Recently, the company has secured $250-million from investors like Blackrock Inc., Goldman Sachs, Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners and Index. According to the forecasts of several analysts, it is seen that the tech market will be trending towards the IPO and mergers & acquisitions activity this year.
