Former eBay CEO Becomes Yahoo's Chairman

Bangalore: One of the web’s most successful company, Yahoo Inc. has appointed Maynard Webb, ex CEO of eBay, to be its new chairman. The company has replaced Fred Amoroso, as he reportedly had problems with kick starting advertising business.

Webb, a former CEO of online marketplace eBay, has been serving as the interim chairman since April. He has worked as a director of Yahoo since 2012.

“Maynard Webb’s leadership and guidance have been an invaluable part of our board since he joined it in 2012, and we are honored to make this man of experience the new chairman,” Yahoo said in a statement.

Marissa Mayer, the former Google Executive who is currently leading Yahoo is on a mission to get advertisers and consumers back to the company and increase the revenue stream.

Yahoo, which has suffered through a series of changes in its management in the past two years, is now confident of Webb’s position as a permanent Chairman.
