Four Major Contracts That May Change The Face of Indian IT

Bangalore: Four big IT contracts each valuing close to $8 billion from Unilever, Procter and Gamble, American Express and Bank of America will come for renewal this year, as reported by global research and strategic consulting firm Pierre Audoin Consultants. This will create ‘fresh battle lines’ between Indian IT service providers and MNCs that were servicing the deals since they were signed in 2003–04, reports TimesofIndia.

As clients are looking forward to rigid lock-ins and particular business goals, firms are competing on value propositions. Yet, Indian IT firms such as TCS and Infosys stands a good chance with these contracts as they have gone ahead of their MNC competitors like IBM and Accenture.

According to Pierre Audoin Consultants, “The large Indian IT vendors can compete on almost any value proposition with their global rivals. They have also built up envious cash reserves and have global scale and presence that can match their rivals,” as reported by TOI.

As per a brokerage firm Angel Broking, In 2006-07Indian IT firms accounted for $31 billion or 4.8 percent of the worldwide IT spending. This year saw a whopping $77 billion or 9.8 percent of worldwide IT spending which is over $785 billion.
