On number two is the accession of Lorillard Tobacco by Reynolds American last year in a deal valued at 27.2 billion dollars. Another purchase in the tobacco industry was the acquisition of Altadis by the British tobacco giant Imperial Tobacco in 2008 with a brand value of 9.38 billion dollar. Similarly, one of the world's largest tobacco and cigarette corporations Altria group acquired US Smokeless Tobacco with a brand value of 9.38 billion dollars.
