Sam Walton
His full name was Samuel Moore Walton, the businessman who is best known for founding Wal-Mart retailers and Sam’s club. At the age of 26 he took over management of his first variety store in 1945. Walton purchased a Ben Franklin variety store in was during this time that he learned tricks to succeed. In 1962 the first Wal-Mart was established which was known as the Wal-Mart Discount City store. Walton was included in Time’s list of 100 most Influential people of the 20th century in 1998 and Forbes ranked him as the richest man in United States from 1982 to 1988. He was honored by the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 1992. In 1992 Walton was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business hall of Fame. A business college was named as Sam M. Walton College of Business in his honor at the University of Arkansas.
