Is India's Growth Story Over?
This slowdown in spending resembles the situation when the Lehman Brothers crash led to a string of spectacular Wall Street crashes, impacting the Indian exporters and consumer sentiments in 2008-09. SamiranChakroborty the head of research at Standard Chartered says, “India needs to send a clear message to investors that the policy bias will be towards boosting growth.”
The legislative congestion at the Parliament has jeered the economic reforms in areas such as banking, insurance, pension, direct and indirect taxes and the change in company laws. The only way out of this situation would be to make the necessary reforms to help revive the economy, bring up the value of the rupee and get back the some charm on the spoilt image of the government.
