BANGALORE: Over the years we have seen the rise of numerous brands, some of them being favorites among the masses. When each brand and products were discovered they had unique marketing strategies from mascots to taglines they all wanted to give it a best shot.

Thus some of the well known brands in the world had a really different tagline in the earlier stage of their business, but have managed to register their new taglines in millions of minds all over the globe. Nike - "Just do it"

The American multinational corporation, Nike is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories and services. It is one of the world's largest suppliers of athletic shoes, apparel and a major manufacturer of sports equipments.

The brand has as iconic tagline “Just do it”, which is quite popular worldwide. But they tried their luck with a new tagline in 1986 which was “I can”. But it didn’t go in their favor and they had to redeem their old tagline.

Britannia - "Eat healthy, think better"

Britannia Industries Limited is an Indian food-products corporation which manufactures and sells biscuits, bread, rusk, cakes and dairy products. The company is stuck with their slogan “Eat healthy, think better” for a long time, which made them one of the most trusted brands in the country. The brand has recently given a new twist to their tagline and now they say “Zindagi Mei life”.

Reebok - "Lose that beer belly"

The British athletic footwear and apparel company, Reebok produces and distributes fitness and sports items including shoes, workout clothing and accessories, and training equipments. The brand is widely recognized and a huge consumer base.

In 2002 Rebook came with their widely appreciated advertisement which featured a man who was running away from a huge human belly. Thus their “lose that beer belly” campaign was considered among the most creative works and in 2014 they have brought a new tag line “I am what I am”, focusing on the youngsters.

Kit Kat - "Break time, anytime"

Kit Kat is a chocolate-covered wafer biscuit bar confection with three layers of wafer, covered in an outer layer of chocolate. The company has manufacturing basis in 16 countries around the world. The brand was launched with a tagline “Break time anytime” in the U.S. But it launched globally with another campaign which also emphasize on break, “Have a break, have a kit kat”.

Volkswagen - "Think small"

German car manufacturer Volkswagen is currently the second largest automakers in the world. The cars were manufactured for the needs of common man and they came up with a tagline of “Think small” which was a huge success. During different phases of the company, they managed to bring out relative taglines. In 2013 they used “Get in Get happy” for the Beetle version but they stick with “Das Auto” for all speed machines.

Maybelline - "You have the loveliest eyes!"

The American makeup brand Maybelline is sold worldwide and owned by the French cosmetics company L'Oréal. Their tagline “Maybe she's born with it. Maybe its Maybelline” is quite famous and the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use is an invention from the beauty brand. 

The brand was launched for the eye products and had a tagline of “You have the loveliest eyes”. It’s been almost half a century that they have been using the slogan “Because you are worth it” and it seems like it’s working for them.

HBO - "This is HBO, the Home Box Office”

The American premium cable and satellite television network, HBO is the oldest and longest continuously operating pay television service in the United States. HBO's programming consists primarily of theatrically released motion pictures and original television series, along with made-for-cable movies and documentaries, boxing matches and occasional stand-up comedy and concert specials. They started off with a tagline of "This is HBO, the Home Box Office" and later replaced it with "It's HBO" and "So Original” in order to grab more audience.
