Let us glance through five age-old Indian food chains that have sustained test and trials for ages now.

Indian Coffee House

India has been cultivating coffee since the 16th century; hence, Indian Coffee House (ICH) being one of the age-old food chains must not be a surprise for us. ICH was established by the Coffee Cess Committee at Bombay in 1936. The chain soon got recognized and branched into 70 plus outlets throughout India. Later the chain was transformed into a worker co-operative. Now, ICH has expanded to own more than 400 branches across the country. Its delicious specialties like fried cutlets, bread omelettes and of course, the exhilarating coffee -tea still magnetize people to savor to the last drop.

Nirula's 

Nirula's is Delhi's oldest and most popular fast food restaurant chain. It was found by Nirula Brothers in 1934. Being the first fast food outlet of Delhi, Nirula's has evolved to own more than 70 outlets across India most of the outlets based in North India. The outlet is specialized in serving Western fast food with an Indian touch at a minimal price. Eventually, Nirula's have included ice cream parlours, pastry shops, pegasus bars and dining potpourri to its chain of restaurants.   

 Karim's Hotel

Karim could be termed as a historic restaurant in the country. It was established in 1913 with a motto to serve royal food to that of a common man's. Its first outlet was based near Jama Masjid, Delhi. Karim's eventually became the landmark of Old Delhi and is one of the city's popular food destinations. It has gained popularity for serving traditional Mughlai cuisine. In the 90s, Karim's stretched out in Nizamuddin West, Kailash Colony, Noida, Gurgaon, Dwaraka and Delhi. It's been over a century the food chain is successfully headed by its fourth generation.    

Adyar Ananda Bhavan

Established in 1935, Adyar Ananda Bhavan is popularly known as A2B. It is not just an age-old food chain but, the most popular and goto option for the ones in search of vegetarian restaurants. The restaurant set up its first outlet in Chennai and its rich and superior quality food has helped it to open a chain of restaurants across the globe. Presently, A2B owns more than 145 outlets in India majorly in South India. It also has outlets in Malaysia, Singapore and the USA. It offers a wide range of South Indian and Chinese foods, sweets and snacks.

Delhi's Kwality Restaurant

Kwality restaurant is an iconic eatery of Delhi. Established in 1940, the outlet initially served only handmade ice creams and milkshakes. Later, the restaurant expanded its menu; now it serves the best chole bhatura in Delhi, and the restaurant claims to be world-famous for the dishes served here. With gaining popularity, the restaurant has expanded all over India.
