Hindustan Construction Company-Tata Projects JV wins Rs 2,191 crore contract

Tata Projects Limited and Hindustan Construction Company in a joint venture, has won a Rs 2,191 crore contract for the Indore Metro. HCC holds a 55 per cent share, amounting to Rs 1,205 crore. The project involves constructing an 8.65 km corridor, including underground tunnels and seven stations for Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL).

The awarded package (IN-05R) is the only underground segment of the 31.32 km Indore Metro Phase 1. It includes 11.32 km of tunneling using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) and seven underground stations. This corridor will connect  Indore Railway Station to Airport Station.

Hindustan  construction company is actively involved in metro projects across India, including Mumbai Metro Line III and two packages of Chennai Metro. It has played a key role in constructing parts of  Delhi , Bangalore , Mumbai Line I, and Kolkata Metros.

HCC reported a stand-alone turnover of Rs 1,002 crore, as of Q3 FY25. The company’s current order backlog is Rs 9,773 crore, with the transport sector contributing 47 per cent. Hindusthan construction company  is also the lowest bidder (L1) for projects worth Rs 3,513 crore and has submitted bids for projects totaling Rs 17,679 crore. HCC aims to reduce net debt by 15 per cent annually while focusing on core Indian operations. The company remains optimistic about securing more large-scale projects, particularly in the nuclear and infrastructure sectors
