Top 15 Charitable Companies

Bangalore: World’s largest companies are making profits day by day, selling their products and services to the public and private sectors. Besides the concept of mere selling, these companies have also learned that it is important to occupy the minds of their customers. Thus, the companies are more concerned about corporate image.

Since the public is keen to know what these companies give back to the communities they profit from, they are becoming more transparent and taking part in philanthropic activities.

Here are the top 15 charitable corporations who invested their money in humane concerns in the year 2011. The information here is extracted from the report published by ‘The Chronicle of Philanthropy.’

15. Wells Fargo

In the year 2011, Wells Fargo gave $213 million in cash and products out its pretax profit of $23,656,000,000. There is, however, a decrease of 2.6 percent from last years’ donations.

Wells Fargo, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is an American multinational financial services company operating across the globe. It is fourth largest bank in the U.S. based on assets and second largest based on the deposits it has. In 2007 it was the only bank in America to be rated AAA by S&P. But the rating has since been lowered to AA in the light of the global financial crisis of 2007-2012. In its present form it has over 9,000 branches, 12,198 ATM counters in 39 states, more than 270,000 employees and over 70 million customers.
