Nearly 400 Flipkart Employees To Become Crorepati



BANGALORE: It seems Flipkart has set with wings of fire as the achievement list appears to be never ending. Already the e-commerce giant is stealing the headlines in each and every column these days, another milestone has added to the success glory of the company.

And this time the news is about the 400 employees who are soon going to be ‘crorepati’. The $ 1 billion valuation of the online retailer is a big boom in the industry and almost one-fourth of Flipkart's 7,000 full-time employees are the shareholders in the company and are getting benefitted in big times.

The senior-most employees who have joined the company during two years span, worth at least 6 crore on paper today. In the course of two years, Flipkart has seen tremendous heights in its growth, it’s important to mention that Flipkart has grown almost 8 times what it was 2 years ago.

According to Sachin Bansal, co-founder and chief executive of Flipkart, "While we are competitive when it comes to salaries, Esops offer the opportunity for wealth and value creation; it's a long-term reward for those who believe in the future of Flipkart." Reports Economic Times.

Not only, had the senior employees, even the junior employees have considerable stake in the company. One of the employees, Ambur Iyyappa, a senior manager of customer operations at Flipkart was the 2nd non-founder employee to join Flipkart in 2008.

For existent employees like Iyyappa, Esops yield recognition, “Esops are a motivation for us employees, and it is how the company recognizes our work," reports Economic Times.
