Micromax Ahead Of Samsung In India

BENGALURU: Indian mobile phone maker, Micromax, recently ousted the South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, in the sale of mobile phones in India. Apparently, Micromax targeted 9000 -12000 price range mobile phones and this led to the greater market share than Samsung mobile phones, reports Canalys.

Canalys analyst Rushabh Doshi said “Canalys believes catering to local market preferences will become increasingly important. Micromax has been quicker than its competitors to improve the appeal of devices, for example, by including a wide variety of local languages.”

In India, the segment of mobile phones in the price bracket of 6000 – 12000 accounts to about 41 percent of the total mobile market share.
