Bangalore: It is almost a norm in India to hand over the company’s reins to sons and daughters. Tata Sons choosing a family member in Cyrus Mistry, to succeed Ratan Tata, as the Chairman of the Tata Group stands as a testament to this. Various other business moguls in the country are also training their Gen X to take up the mantle soon. Sidhartha Mallya

Sidhartha Mallya, 26, son of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, completed his education from the University of London in Business. In 2005, at the age of 18, he was appointed as a director of United Breweries. He played an important role in formulating the company's marketing strategy and his leadership helped UB Group acquire the Glasgow based whiskey maker Whyte & Mackay in 2007. He is currently the General Manager of Marketing in United Spirits and has been confirmed by Vijay Mallya to head the UB Group after he steps down.
