Google, Microsoft And Yahoo- Elite Companies That Tried To Acquire Facebook

7. MySpace

MySpace is a bigger company than Facebook during initial times and even now. Thus when once Facebook team had a meeting with the co-founder of MySpace Chris DeWolfe, they asked him if he was interested in buying Facebook for $75 million.  Soon after a year both the companies met again and the social networking company owner Mark Zuckerberg again asked DeWolfe whether he would be interested in buying the company for $750 million, but the MySpace co-founder rejected the deal.

8. AOL

AOL CEO Jonathan Miller decided to buy Facebook somewhere in the middle of 2006. He even managed to convince Time Incorporation CEO Anne Moore to come in on the deal before he took it to AOL's parent company, Time Warner. Miller’s plan was to sell MapQuest and Tegic and Time Inc would sell IPC. Together AOL and Time Warner will then offer $1 billion plus for Facebook. But then Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes rejected the idea and deal was off. As reported in Business Insider and mentioned by Kirkpatrick Jeff Bewkes said that " if they could live without those properties they should go ahead and sell them, then turn the cash over to the parent company."
