# Foxconn is at present up to its neck in matters concerning the Nokia plant in Chennai that was shutdown owing to not “following any of the mandatory procedures under the Industrial Disputes Act” according to its employees. Even if Foxconn plans to set up another company in India, the company has to first clear out the old disputes, which will take a while. So this adds to the list of reasons why the Taiwanese Smartphone maker may not show interest in India, right now.

# Devoid of all these, if Apple decides to set up its workhouse in India then it could gain up to 11 percent on duties. In case Apple turns it profits over to the customers then each phone will be about 5000 cheaper than it was, hardly worthy either for the company and the users.

# For Foxconn it would be better if it plans to start production for other companies that are presently established in India, particularly the Indian ones. . This would prove profitable for Foxconn as well as the related companies, rather than setting their own company.

Setting up manufacturing and component plants in India would prove a deal for Foxconn as the existing companies in India whether Indian or Chinese brands are keen on making benefit on skewed duty. So, instead of dragging Apple to the Indian lines which is a tough job, it would be better to align with the companies in India.
