5 CEOs that Truly Deserve to be Fired

Mike Duke, WalMart

Prior being the CEO of WalMart, Duke was the head of WalMart International. Duke’s business unit did not come across any problems with bribing foreign officials to grow its business.  Just on the basis of knowing about illegal activity, not doing anything about it and then trying to change U.S. law to diminish the legal repercussions, Duke should have long ago been fired.

Duke was prepared to do anything to try and grow WalMart, even if it’s unethical and potentially illegal.  But worse part was that not even bribes saved WalMart as Duke chased a worn-out approach unfit for retail competition in 2012.  The entire retail market is shifting and on-line trend is picking up its pace, but WalMart is largely avoiding the on-line world as its CEO is stubbornly stuck with WalMart doing more of the same. This has narrowed WalMart’s growth, and margins, while the company falls further behind competitively. WalMart needs an entirely new strategy to remain workable and that will not come from Duke.
