Bangalore: Wall Street history remembers lots of instances when many of the big titles being mocked publically, mostly due to their own infamous quotes. There are many such personalities who got embarrassed due to their emails and conversations which were made public.
Here are Wall Street’s most embarrassing words; which they probably wish might not had made public.
1. Dick Fuld’s Over Confidence
In 2007, Lehman Brother’s then CEO Dick Fuld sent an email to the then Chief Strategy Officer David Goldfarb, which made him appear like a total frat boy.
He said in the email: “I agree we need some help-but the BROs always win!” And in 2008, we all could see how much ‘the BROs’ have won, as it tastes the bitter bankruptcy.
2. S & P Employee on Financial Crisis
The next controversial statement comes from an employee who was worried about financial crisis.
The email sent by a Standard & Poor’s employee, prior to the financial crisis, contained some bitter truth and it went like this: “Rating agencies continue to create an even bigger monster — the CDO market. Let’s hope we are all wealthy and retired by the time this house of card falters.”
