6. Hinduja Brothers

Making $2.19 billion last year alone, the Indian-born Hinduja brothers land the title of Britain’s richest billionaires of 2014. Spanning 37 countries, the Hinduja Empire includes automobiles, finance, oil, renewable and nonrenewable energy, media, chemicals, medicine and education, not to mention a $500 million historical real estate next door to Buckingham Palace.

The value of their stake in Indusind Bank jumped, too, and is now worth $1 billion. They listed lubricants arm Of Gulf Oil India. Their total net worth is $13.3 billion.

7. Shiv Nadar

Another Indian philanthropist is none other than Shiv Nadar. He is known for his philanthropy; Nadar created his own foundation, the Shiv Nadar Foundation, and has been contributing to the development of India’s educational system since the mid 1990s. He has donated over 10 percent of his wealth to philanthropic causes. He has built his fortune in the IT software industry and as of now his net worth is $12.5 billion.

Nadar founded IT hardware company HCL Info systems, which he transformed into an IT Enterprise over the next three decades by constantly reinventing the company’s focus. He is the chairman of the enterprise and received the Padma Bhushan in 2008 for his contributions to the IT industry.
