In India for its global perspective.

“India is now one of the most exciting places to live and work,” says Manish Sinha who has recently relocated to Microsoft India as Managing Director for its Global Support Centre (GSC) in Bangalore. What excites Sinha particularly is that India is growing very rapidly and embarking on the global technological market.

In a ten-year stint with Microsoft, Sinha has held senior positions in Microsoft’s Consulting Services division and the Product Support Services division. Today he oversees 24X7 Technical Support and Customer Service for Microsoft’s global customer base. Having worked in the U.S, Korea, Australia and Singapore, Sinha sees his new role as an extension of the responsibilities he was previously handling. “I now see my teams in Asia Pacific and India working much closer together than they have ever done before and this is great for our customers.”

Returning after living outside India for 15 years, Sinha exclaims, “a lot has changed both in the country and my perception of looking at it. The challenge was to refit my cultural thinking to the “neo” India while keeping the Microsoft culture alive.” And Sinha has been successful towards that end.

“As the businesses are becoming more global in nature, individuals need to have a global perspective to understand the business better. After working in the U.S. for a long while, I felt it’s lack of a global perspective and hence had to step out to work for some time in Singapore and now in India. Hopefully the experience and insight I gain will help provide a more global perspective that is needed for senior people in the organization to be even more successful.”
