Cloud Security Company Apprity has raised $8 million from its series-A funding. The funding was led by Norwest Venture Partner's Pramod Haque, a senior managing partner, and Gaurav Garg, a founding partner at Wing ventures.

According to Apprity's CEO, Rohit Gupta, the funding will provide a huge push to Apprity's Engineering and research & development arena. "Close to 98 percent of our projected outlay is in core engineering and research", says the CEO. Along with Rohit, Ganesh Kriti, CTO too brings in a valuable 18 years experience in innovation and product development in security technologies.

Backing Apprity and its vision, Pramod Haque of Nowest Venture Partners says, "With many years of experience that these gentlemen have, it gives them a very interesting vantage point to assess the weaknesses of other systems and build something different". Apprity's deep research for threat patterns in the cloud at the granular level also excited Gupta of Wing Ventures.. The company was founded last year with a vision of developing a new paradigm in security, that would enable enterprises to confidently embrace and accelerate the shift to Cloud and SaaS. Apprity's services eliminate the threat landscape that traditional application security approaches, through the Bring-your's-own-device (BYOD) and Internet of things (IoT). These have opened up accessibility from various devices and end points.
