Today\'s economy operates at a relentless pace, and organizations must be online, at all times, around the globe. This requires infrastructure and solutions with greater flexibility and agility than ever before. As a result, many organizations are on the path toward cloud computing and IT as a Service (ITaaS -Iaas) business model. VCE, a provider of true converged infrastructure for the cloud, allows organizations to virtualize their resources, creating shared resource pools, while reducing hardware and maintenance costs with its ingenious products delivered as pre-integrated, pre-tested and pre-validated systems.
VCE offers its products to enterprises, called Vblock Systems, as converged infrastructure that combines VMware virtualization and cloud management, Cisco network and compute, and EMC storage and data protection. ’VCE delivers true converged infrastructure by engineering, manufacturing, managing, supporting, and sustaining its Vblock Systems as a single entity, optimizing customer IT systems, accelerating next-generation deployment models, reducing IT costs, and improving time to market for customers,’ says Praveen Akkiraju, CEO, VCE. These dynamic and customized resources can be intelligently provisioned and managed to address changing demands and fleeting business opportunities.

VCE has many products for enterprises of different sizes and needs. Vblock System 100 addresses the needs of remote and distributed operations as well as mid-sized businesses; Vblock System 200 offers mid-sized organizations a highly efficient, virtualized infrastructure to run their entire business. Vblock System 300 was built to support mission-critical enterprise applications with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to run VDI, mixed workloads and essential cloud services. Vblock System 700 provides unprecedented scalability and configurability as well as reliably runs thousands of virtual machines and desktops supporting mission-critical applications such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, VDI, and more.

VCE was formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel, recently partnered with SAP AG to deliver SAP HANA’ software, a data analysis tool, pre-installed on an optimized and purpose-built Vblock’ Specialized System. This allows their clients to deploy mission-critical systems that analyze and transact large amounts of data in real-time. The Vblock’ Specialized System for SAP HANA has been certified by SAP for running SAP HANA following extensive validation and testing. It enables the high levels of performance, scalability, flexibility and security that enterprises need to accelerate applications and business processes.

Serving an Ever growing demand
VCE’s clients are some of the largest companies in the world, including many of the Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. The company will continue to optimize its Vblock Systems based on new technology from Cisco, EMC, and VMware, as well as expand development of its own innovative software, VCE Vision’ Intelligent Operations to retain its name as the leader in true converged cloud infrastructure.
