The software testing market is growing fast, not only in size but also complexity. The big need in the market has shifted from test functionality to complexities of production environment. Enterprises are using virtualization and private clouds extensively to consolidate their datacenters. In order to deploy production applications companies need deep understanding of architecture, infrastructure technologies and testing. Instead of Performance testing, CIO’s now need to address Performance Engineering. Anuradha Biswas had a pristine understanding of this when she started Prakat Solutions.

Founded in 2009, the Texas based company’s specialty is in Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Independent Testing, Test Consulting and Open Source. The company has three core offerings; Software Testing, Consulting and Training. The testing services include Enterprise Testing, Performance Testing, Data Warehouse Testing, Application Security Testing and Test Automation. It provides an end to end testing service to the customers. “We realize the pains our customers face with some of the larger companies where they are not willing to be flexible to meet some of the critical requirements or concerns. We have also seen the increasing requests from customers for taking up an end-to-end testing project where the platforms and tools are also provided by the testing vendor,” explains Anuradha, CEO of Prakat. To meet customer needs Prakat is now offering end-to-end performance engineering, quality maturity assessment and creation of test center of excellence and domain specific test delivery accelerators.

Prakat’s aim is to deploy a massively distributed test workforce using its “test workbench” to deliver large projects. Their eventual vision is to bring together industry experts, academia, mothers taking a career break, consultants, and students and effectively leverage them in a globally distributed model. The company believes that U.S. has a large talented workforce which is not being tapped sufficiently. Prakat’s distributed model opens up a lot of opportunities for talented professionals in U.S., many of whom have been hit by recession.
