Founded by Vik Chadha and Robert May in 2008, Cambridge, Massachusetts, headquartered Backupify provides backup for cloud based data and helps prevent data loss caused by user error, service failure, or external threats. The company offers an all-in-one archiving, search and restore service for the most popular online services including Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter and more.

Despite its abundant opportunities, cloud is not secure from data loss, owing to various reasons; from user error to Data Control and Black Swan events; thereby having impact on the firm or the individual. Fragmentation and synchronization of data can also sometimes result in the same. Realization of this led Chadha and May to start Backupify and address these challenges successfully. Users of the cloud are also aware of this potential threat and this realization is reflected in the response that the company has got so far. Today Backupify has over 150,000 users.

Their pay as you go business model and different plans, suits individual users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations aptly. Individuals can take the company’s free personal plan, while enterprises can opt between their PRO 100 or PRO 500 plans based on requirements. Backupify is also providing companies the option of 30-day free trial which helps them to get to know the product before they subscribe to it.
