Nokia is gearing up for a fight after revealing it will launch its first high-end touchscreen phone N97. The highly anticipated smartphone is launched as ‘personal Internet mobile phone’ for the Internet savvy customers considering their online social networking needs. Nokia is targeting their E-series and N-series customers to compete with Apple, Palm Pre, and other smartphone manufacturers. With a QWERTY keyboard, the phone has wide-ranging applications from the Ovi Store for users to download.

The user can store around 12,000 songs and over 40,000 images in the phone with an inbuilt 5 mega pixel camera with a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. N97 comes with an inbuilt memory of 32 GB, which can be expanded to 48 GB. Like other smartphones, the N97 provides Facebook, Twitter applications, and Paramount Pictures apart from news services like NDTV and Reuters to the customers. Priced at Rs.35,000, the phone will be available in the Indian market by June end.
