India’s First FTTH Service Introduced in Jaipur

In an attempt to offer better video and data services to the end users, BSNL recently unveiled the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband service in Jaipur for the first time in India. The service, jointly launched by BSNL and Akash Optifibre, will provide many services with high definition content for its 35,000-plus consumers in six districts of Rajasthan - Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Kota, and Alwar. It will soon launch these services across the country.
With the launch of this new technology, BSNL would be able to offer high-speed broadband access up to 1,000 Mbps. FTTH is more feasible and it also facilitates interactive gaming, IPTV, HDTV, 3DTV, video-on-demand, bandwidth-on-demand, LAN, VOIP service, and video conferencing. It offers abundant services based on triple play (voice-video-data). The optical fiber will serve the consumers with worldclass triple play experience. Even if the optical fiber is damaged, information will be re-routed through another line.
