Prior to this position at Syntel, he founded Indus Ventures, LLC. Ranade served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Group Logistics and Assembly Systems, NA (currently Dematic GmbH & Co. KG). Ranade served on the board of directors at Dematic until July 2007 and has served as a director of Syntel since June 2007.
Ranade obtained a BS degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). After emigrating to the US, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he received an MS degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, while working at Siemens Energy and Automation, he earned an MBA from Xavier University. Outside work, he enjoys reading, traveling, doing physical fitness exercises, tennis, and golf.
