Bengal College of Engineering and Technology for Women is the first women's engineering college in the entire eastern region of the country, founded in 2009 by the SKS Educational and Social Trust. Situated in the posh part of Durgapur, the Steel City of Bengal and housed elegantly in a building with modern architectonic features. Starting its journey five years back, the institute has already positioned itself among the premier engineering institutes in the Asansol-Durgapur industrial belt. The campus comprises the college building, three girls' hostels, the playground and the cafeteria. The main building houses all the departments with the state-of-the-art labs, the library, the conference hall, the language lab, the lecture theatres, the tutorial rooms.

With its huge infrastructure, latest teaching-learning system and participation of students and teachers in Seminars, workshops, conferences, cultural events and other co-curricular programs, the college is emerging as a leader in the realm of engineering education. The college is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. The aim of the College has been to empower women by imparting them quality technical education as well as catapulting them to a successful professional career. BCETW has maintained a liaison with the industries on one hand and the premier engineering institutions of the region on the other.
