Higher education system of any country runs with the investment of three key stakeholders - Students, Institutes and Employers. With a median age of 25 years, India has over 550 million people below the age of 25 years and of that, 11 million people are engaged in the higher education system. It shows the heftiness of student stakeholders who have invested in this system and are waiting for their Return on Investments (ROI). When we look deep into the economic condition of student stakeholders, we can see that majority of them fall in the category of middle class, which earn somewhere between Rs. 1.5 - 5 lakhs annually. Even though, many engineering and management institutes in the country annually charge Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 10 lakhs for a single seat, the demand for these degrees have never diminished. This points us towards the optimistic mindset of students and their parents. Despite the huge investment to be made, majority of the student community live in an illusion that an engineering or management degree would give them the opportunity to earn faster than any other profession. On the flipside, employers who invest in this system in terms of hiring fresh employees hold the opinion that the country is facing a skill shortage of more than 70 percent.

While the number of students is exponentially rising in the Indian community, the education market in India is poised for some major growth in the years to come. It is promising to witness new institutes coming up every year to reduce the supply and demand gap. However, in this abundance many forget the fact that India needs quality over mass production of degree holders.

To remind this fact, we have listed some of the best newly established engineering and management institutes in the country that are focusing on producing quality workforce under the names "Top 10 Emerging Engineering Colleges" and "Top 10 Emerging Management Institutes." On the cover, we have featured T. A. Pai Management institute, a premier institute that has been consistently producing high quality workforce to the nation.
