Makerbot Unveils Mini 3D Printer At Affordable Price For Consumers

The MakerBot 3D printing set up comes with a host of new application and one of those is MakerBot PrintShop, which gives the consumer a very fun-filled, simple and absolutely-free way to make their own unique 3D objects and designs. The other application that draws the attention is the MakerBot Digital Store, akin to iTunes of Apple, from which the user can buy, download, and print remarkable 3D collections and models, that have been verified by MakerBot.

“The compact size of the printer makes it even more attractive – Consumer gadget – you may say.  The desktop application has also been updated to control and monitor your printer and a mobile application has been updated that sends alerts when printing related events happen on the printer and in the cloud,” said Bre Pretis, CEO, MakerBot. The company also claimed to have made a ‘strategic alliance’ with innovative 3D vision company “SoftKinetic” to build future 3D scanning products.
