iPhone 5: Hits and Misses


Bangalore: After all the hype and rumors surrounding the releases of the latest iPhone 5, it has been finally launched by Apple at San Francisco. The smartphone from Apple has been welcomed by many but at the same time a lot of people are disappointed as well. The hype and noise around the new iPhone was a lot, which might be one reason which led to the disappointment among the masses.

Let’s have a look at what’s new, what’s missing and what’s most annoying in this new iPhone.

The Hits:

A Larger Screen

The first thing that hits anyone when they unbox the new iPhone 5 is that the screen is larger. The previous iPhone had a 3.5 inch LED touch screen. The new iPhone comes with a 4 inch screen. The width of the new smartphone is similar to the previous one the difference only lies in the length. Since the screen is longer now the user can view five rows of icons along with the permanent row in at the bottom of the screen. The new iPhone comes with a 1,136 X 640 pixels. The screen packs in about 326 pixels per inch (ppi). Apple also claims that the colours of the new iPhone are way better than the previous model. In addition to this Apple has removed a layer in the screen and combined the touch sensors into the panel. This makes the screen slimmer as well as more responsive to touch.
