The Walkman F series comes with 3.5-inch multi-touch LCD screen which is powered by a Tegra 2-dual-core- processor. The walkman operates on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.  The device also comes with wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The highlights of this walkman are the Google Play and Music Unlimited Support which the company keeps highlighting. The rest of the design is similar to all their previous walkman, minimalistic and simple with the walkman logo.

Walkman F has a sonically simulating S-master Digital Amplifier which enhances the music listening experience. The walkman also has built-in speakers along with a pair of MDR-EX0300E earphones.

That is not all. Sony has added FLAC codec to the F series. While this may not mean much to a lay person but to the avid music listener this is the best additional spec added by Sony. Apart from this the walkman also supports other audio and video formats like MP3, WMA, HE-AAC, PCM, MPEG4, AVC (H.264), and WMV.

Being a walkman the battery life is very important. The expected life of the battery according to Sony is 20 hours while audio playback and 4.5 hours during video playback.
