Smartron's t.book Hits Indian Market at 39,999


BENGALURU: Smartron, a startup based out of India that deals with everything from IoT devices to high-end computers and smartphones today launched its 2-in-1 tablet called Smartron t.book. The hybrid computing device whose keyboard can be attached or detached using a magnetic strip runs on Windows 10 Operating System and comes with a Magnesium + Aluminum built body. The product appears as an alternative for Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 as it is available at almost half the price with almost the same features.

The Laptop-cum-tablet is powered by an Intel Core M 64-bit SoC with 4MB of cache and Turbo frequency of 2GHz coupled with 4GB of 1600 mHz LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB SSD storage. The t.book has a 12.2-inch multi-touch IPS display, which comes with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic layer with 16:10 aspect ratio. Backed by a 37Whr rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery, the tablet enables 10 hours of non-stop usage and 28 days on standby. On the camera aspect, it has a 5MP rear-facing autofocus camera and a 2MP front HD camera.

Other features of the Smartron t.book include two full-size USB 3.0 ports, one Micro-HDMI port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, one USB Type-C port for charging with USB 3.0 and magnetic pogo pin for external keyboard support.  It also supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz), MIMO as well as Intel Wi-Di. Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Hall Sensors are also laced into the product.

Apart from all these features, t.book also has the additional feature of tcloud, which offers the user with unlimited cloud storage. The product is priced at 39,999 and available in two colour variants namely grey and orange will be sold exclusively through Gadgets 360 from April 8 for which registrations have already begun. The company’s most expected t.phone will be launched on April 18th 2016.
