6. Home Camcorders and Alarm Clocks: Camcorders, as the name suggests, are electronic devices that are used for video camera recording. Camcorders, especially the lightweight, easy-to-use low cost ones, were a huge hit among people when it was launched. The bigger ones were usually used for film broadcast; they used huge batteries and cassette tapes instead of a flash memory or SD card. But the introduction of smartphones has made camcorders an ancient piece of machine because smartphones can also record high definition videos just like the camcorders.
Nobody likes waking up to the noisy buzz of the alarm clock these days. Although alarm clocks came in different designs and forms, people now prefer smartphones. There is the simple battery powered alarm clock that produces only the beeping and buzzing noise while another one called the novelty alarm can speak, sing, laugh or play sounds from nature. But who wants these sounds when you can set your personal favorite artists song to wake you up in the morning? Smartphones have that extra special ability that allows the user to wake up to his favorite song in the morning instead of the usual buzzing or beeping.
