5 Smart TVs Worth Watching Out

3. Philips Smart TV

The Philips Smart TV had a fast dual-core processor. Apps like YouTube and the other have been upgraded and the user interface has been upgraded from the previous smart TV.

Dashboard: The Dashboard screen in the Philips Smart TV is pretty interactive and user friendly, all you need to do is press the Smart TV button on the remote and this will immediately display the home screen which has the live window to watch the TV programme on the top-left corner and the apps are visible on a grid at the bottom.

Though a disappointing factor of the home screen is that it isn’t very customizable. You can only rearrange or delete apps, you cannot do much more.

Social-Networking Apps: The social networking apps in the Philip Smart TV need working on. It isn’t very smooth or user friendly. The TV does not provide a unified platform for Facebook, Twitter and the programs on running on the TV i.e unlike Panasonic Viera you cannot see your social feeds running at the bottom of the screen while you watch a programme.

Web browser: The Internet Browser on this Smart TV is passable. The only features that this TV offers the user are the normal. It only offers the users the normal features like bookmarking, history and zoom functions. The browser does not support Flash, or multi-tab capability to open multiple websites.

Skype Function: On certain 2012 edition of Philips TV, you can make use of Skype. All you need to do is buy a USB camera and log into Skype and keep in touch with friends and family all over the world. The on screen visuals are quite sharp and with voice and image are perfectly synchronized without and delay in either.
