9. 3 BSNL Tablets, Starting from 3,250

BSNL launched three new budget tablets, the cheapest model costing only 3,250. The three tablets are manufactured by Noida-based Pantel and the company claims the cheapest model-T-PAD IS701R has 1GHz processor, 7-inch resistive screen, runs on  Android 2.3 operating system, has 256M RAM, is Wi-Fi enabled and has a built-in 2GB memory can be expanded by up to 32GB. The second model costing 10,999 is engineered with 512MB DDRIII RAM, has 7-inch resistive screen, runs on  Android 2.3 operating system and can be connected to TV through HDMI. The costliest model costing 13,500-T-PAD WS802C is powered by a 1.2GHz processor, has 8-inch touchscreen, 512MB DDRIII RAM and also has a built-in Global Position System. All the three tablets are sold with discounted data plans from BSNL.

10. Aakash 2: Upcoming

The world’s famous and cheapest tablet ‘Aakash’ is going to be upgraded and is said to be launched by May, 2012. The upgraded Aakash dubbed as Aakash 2 will be powered by 700 MHz processor, a capacitative touchscreen and will have an uninterrupted live battery life of three hours with its 3,200 mAh battery. This tablet will be available for students in urban and rural areas at a subscribed price of 1,200 and for others it will cost around 3,000.
