3. Wishtel Android Tablets for 4,000

Wishtel, a Mumbai based company launched two new cheap Android tablets- Ira and Ira Thing- which supports 23 Indian languages and costs 4,000 and 5,500 respectively. ‘Ira’ tablet is powered by 800 MHz processor, runs on Android 2.2 and sports TFT LCD 7 inch resistive touchscreen, 256 MB RAM, 2GB of storage, 2800 mAh battery, 3.5 mm audio jack and supports Wi-Fi and 3G via USB. The costlier version ‘Ira Thing’ has a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen; all other specifications are same as ‘Ira’.

 

4. Intex Tablet ‘i-Tab’ at 11,900

Intex Technologies launched its first tablet – The i-Tab – the tablet is powered by a 1 GHz cortex A8 core processor which is supported by a 512 MB DDR3 RAM and runs on 2.3 version of the Android operating system. The tablet sports an 8-inch capacitive two point touch screen display, a memory capacity of 8GB which is expandable up to 32GB, a 5000 mAh battery giving it a back up of 5-6 hours, a USB port, front camera and 3.5mm audio jack. For connectivity it has in-built Wi-Fi support and connects with 3G network using Intex dongle.
