Samsung Galaxy S Duos

Price: Rs. 16000 - Rs. 17500
Samsung is seeking growth in dual-SIM market in India by launching wide range of innovative dual-SIM smartphones. The Galaxy S Duos is a close sibling of highly popular smartphone Galaxy S.

Look and Feel: The design of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos strongly resembles the company’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S Duos has a bar design and weighs only 120 grams. To make it feel lightweight it uses a hard plastic construction. Overall, the phone’s design is clean and curvy and looks beautiful.

Processor and Interface: The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 7227A single core processor at a clock speed of 1GHz with 768 MB of RAM. The phone will function on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system along with TouchWiz dubbed Nature UX.

Display: The Galaxy S Duos features a 4.0 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels which is 233 pixels per inch and produces 16 million colors. Furthermore the screen features multi touch and scratch resistant.

Camera: Galaxy S Duos comes with a 5 mega pixel camera at the back which is equipped with auto focus and LED flash as well. The flash proves to be handy for taking pictures in poor lighting conditions. It also has a VGA front facing camera that allows the user to make video calls.

Media and Connectivity: In terms of connectivity the phone comes with dual-SIM support, capable of keeping both the SIMs active at the same time. Furthermore it sports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0, standard microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, stereo FM radio with RDS.

Battery Life: It comes with Li-Ion 1500 mAh standard battery which the company claims to offer up to 12 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 8 hours of talk time on 3G. While the standby time of up to 570 hours and up to 470 hours on 2G and 3G respectively.

The Bottom Line: Overall the Galaxy S Duos look great and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is the plus point. It is better than the Galaxy Ace Duos in every possible way. With its price it may not be for the budget users but it definitely changes the users’ perception of using dual-SIM smartphone.

Bad phone
Pros:
Dual sim and so called Android ICS
Cons:
Hangs,
Lags
if you have more than 10 apps the phone just starts struggling to perform as a phone
Summary:
Very Bad phone... The phone hangs and is slow. If you need to call consecutively, you would need to give the phone at least 10 seconds before it gets ready for the next call.

It claims to have a smart Dual mode but it never works, so it makes the phone a dual standby phone. I am sure there are better android phones in the market that work as a smart phone keeping the "phone" functionality intact, because at time u cant even make calls.
