Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos

Price: Rs. 11000 - Rs. 13000
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is the refreshed model of the quite so famous Galaxy Ace. The Galaxy Ace was a single SIM phone, and now the company has just added one more SIM slot to give the referenced model the dual-SIM functionality.

Design : The Galaxy Ace Duos looks exactly like its former brother. There is a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 and an extra button for dual-SIM configuration. The screen is made of Gorilla Glass so you can rely on its strength.

On the top of the phone there is the 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB port for charging and file transferring. Volume rocker is on the left hand side and the textured back panel gives a good grip to hold.

Processor and Interface : Like its predecessor the phone runs on the 800 MHz processor with 158 MB of internal storage and 278 MB RAM. The handset works on the old Android 2.2 Froyo along with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI onboard. The device is very slow and don’t even dare to do multitasking with this phone.

Features and Performance :

Connectivity In terms of connectivity the phone comes with dual-SIM support, capable of keeping both the SIMs active at the same time. But one down side is the GSM SIM cannot access internet which makes you stick you your primary CDMA connection.
Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and GPS are the other connectivity options which the phone sports.

Camera : Samsung did a very bad job with the camera of this device. The earlier Galaxy Ace had a 5MP camera with LED flash, but Ace Duos comes with a mediocre 3MP camera without LED flash. The picture quality is very poor and the video quality even worse.

Battery Life : The presence of 1650 mAh battery in the device does nothing good. Under normal usage the charge stays for around 18 hours and when we access both the SIM along with video playback it somehow maintains around 7 hours.

Wrap-Up : Galaxy Ace Duos is meant for CDMA customers. But when you look at the only CDMA internet access support, not so good camera and trouble in Wi-Fi connectivity you will realize that there are better phones in the market which sports better features for the same price.

Poor battery backup
Pros:
Android product with rich features.
Cons:
Sluggish touch screen, poor Battery backup. Just 1 day of stand by time, Frustrating to charge every day. I do not recommend this phone to buy.
Summary:
I have been using this phone from past 2 months and the first this which puts me off is the battery stand by time, its pathetic and fully charged battery just stays for 1 day only. where as my other (old) Samsung DUOS have a battery stand by time of 1 week.

Touch screen is very slow and sluggish. I did not see the option to put numbers in reject list. Just 2 months now and I have to sell it off with a loss.
